Complete refurbishment and extension of a tired 5 bedroom, Arts and Crafts cottage in an Arts and Crafts Conservation area
The brief
Our client approached us to explore the potential of their tired and disjointed Arts & Crafts cottage, situated in a conservation area in Farnham. They were eager to create a unique and functional home, opting for renovation over demolition.
Our approach
We developed a comprehensive design which could be executed over time that included a two-storey front and side extension featuring a welcoming porch, a two-storey rear extension with a part single-storey kitchen extension, and a complete exterior renovation with new windows, doors, joinery, and a new roof.
The outcome
The previously unassuming front entrance now opens up into a double height entrance hall with a feature window, whilst the reconfigured layout enhances flow and functionality, creating living spaces filled with natural light. The new kitchen, designed with a modern yet timeless aesthetic, seamlessly integrates with the dining area, making it perfect for family gatherings.The home now exudes warmth and character, featuring high-quality finishes that reflect the owners’ style. Handmade clay roof tiles and beautiful timber windows and doors have contributed to the stunning aesthetic of this property.
