Behind our small and thoughtful company, there’s a black book of further professions whose expertise we draw upon when needed; Project manager, Planning consultant, Interior designer, Landscape Designer, Architect, Structural Engineer, Ecological Consultant, Arboricultural Consultant; we draw together a select team that best serves the unique requirements of each project.
Aleksa Glancy
Design Director
Aleksa’s ethos is that each individual project is a collaboration and her role is to design something that will be a reflection of the client and their desired lifestyle.
Watching her father at the drawing board and being educated in a creative environment has given Aleksa a passion for residential design.
She graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Interior Architecture and went on to work in London across various professions that were all connected to the residential market and home improvements.
In 2003 she became an Associate Director of Back to Front Exterior Design, and spent over ten years working on bespoke, high-end residential renovation and extension schemes.
Her experience in Architecture, Interior Design, Contracting and Project Management has given her a deep understanding of design in the residential market and the ability to guide projects to a successful conclusion for all involved. She has also gained a wealth of excellent contacts and associates to recommend to clients.
Chrissy Sharrard
Business Manager
Chrissy’s love for the role and belief in the business has helped the company go from strength to strength. Her gift for customer relations, strength in account management and her super organisational skills keep everything running smoothly so that Aleksa can focus on her passion for design.
Chrissy graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in Sports Science and went on to work for a high-end health club in London as a Fitness Instructor. It was whilst doing this that she discovered her passion for helping people achieve the results they desire. She progressed to managing health clubs and then moved into a role as an Account Manager for a fitness equipment company.
Whilst on maternity leave with her first child, she was made redundant from this role. Thankfully, serendipity intervened as Aleksa, who Chrissy knew through NCT, was searching for someone to work part-time and help her with the running of her burgeoning design company.
Alicja Stobiecka-Westbury
Designer
Alicja's journey into architecture began in her native Poland, where her childhood fascination with drawing buildings led her to pursue a degree then master’s in Architecture and Urban Design, graduating in 2004. After starting her career in Krakow, working across design, building regulations, and architectural projects, she moved to the UK in 2007, embracing the adventure of a new chapter.
Through her determination and talent, Alicja secured a role with an architectural firm in Winchester, Hampshire. Her desire to work in bespoke residential sector lead her to move to another practice, where she met her husband and later co-founded their own architectural business.
In early 2024, Alicja joined Aleksa Glancy Design, bringing with her almost 20 years of experience, a meticulous eye for design, and a deep understanding of the architectural process. She is an invaluable asset to the team, with a natural flair for creating thoughtful and timeless spaces that reflect clients’ needs and aspirations.
Outside of work, Alicja enjoys exploring UK mountains and countryside with her beloved dog and spending quality time with her family.
Annie
Past life in quite a fast paced career, we are lucky enough to have coaxed her out of retirement to come and work in the office. Main responsibility keeping the workers calm and sofa warm. Ready to break free for a sprint at any moment, has been known to fall asleep on the job.
Percy
Meet Percy! Head of Security and Wellbeing Coach, he's a consummate professional who takes both roles very seriously – rigorous ID inspections are carried out on any visitors to the Studio, whilst daily wellness check-ins are made with AGD team with a lap snuggle. In his spare time he likes taking a stroll with his best friend and confidant, Annie and also likes a party (sausage).
